Flood Precast Slabs and Precast Concrete Stairs used at new school which is near completion.

Flood Precast designed, manufactured and supplied precast hollow core slabs and precast concrete stairs for Lusk National School. Construction began in 2016 and is due to be completed for the start of new school year in 2017.

It is the intention that the new schools will be built on a phased basis and the existing pupils will remain in-situ in their current school. They will then move to the new buildings behind that school and the old school building will be demolished and landscaping completed.

The new junior and senior schools will have 16 classrooms each and will be built either side of the sports hall. They will replace a network of prefabs that have sprung up on the site over the years as the school grew, there is 47 teachers now taking care of more than 850 children.

BENEFITS of using Hollowcore Floor Slabs

  • Eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming on-site concrete pours.
  • Eliminates on site formwork and steel fixing.
  • Units can be grouted immediately after installation.
  • Immediately stable floor platform suitable for working off.
  • Manufactured offsite to rigorous quality standards.
  • Progress on site is not weather dependant.
