Britannia Leisure Centre – Precast Stairs and Wideslab

Main Contractor is Morgan Sindall Construction is on-site delivering two major schemes in the redevelopment of the Britannia Leisure Centre. Flood Precast designed, manufactured and delivery 10000m2 of Precast Wideslab Flooring and 20no Precast Stairs. Hackney Council is redeveloping the site to deliver a new secondary school, new homes – including genuinely affordable social rent and shared ownership homes – and a new state-of-the-art leisure centre.

The whole developments consist of constructing the new hi-tech Britannia Leisure Centre under a £53.8 million contract and a new secondary school the City of London Academy under a £43.7 million contract.

Designed with local people and users, the new leisure centre will include:

  • Six-lane, 25 metre main pool with moveable floor
  • 20 metre x 10 metre training pool with moveable floor
  • Leisure water – for children and families – with water features and a flume
  • Café and toilets
  • Six-court sports hall
  • Crèche and soft play area
  • Sauna and steam room
  • Fitness suite, spin studio and flexible studio spaces
  • Four squash courts
  • Two five-a-side pitches
  • Two tennis/netball courts
