Our two new Hollowcore Extruders are now in operation at our plant in Hilltown, Oldcastle Co. Meath.
These days, manufacturers of hollowcore extruders incorporate the latest hollowcore extruder technology; that utilizes an ideal concrete mix to manufacture a high grade and long-lasting hollow core slabs.
Hollowcore flooring is a precast prestressed concrete slab with tubular voids which run through the full length of the slab, thereby this makes the slab much lighter than a massive solid concrete floor slab of equal thickness or strength. With the benefit of prestressing and low self weight, longer spans can be achieved for the same loads or greater loads for the same depths. The use of Hollowcore flooring is a highly cost effective solution that fits easily into any structural system such as steel or concrete frame or indeed masonry construction.
The units themselves are manufactured at a width of 1200mm and depths of 150, 200, 250, 300, and 400mm
