Flood Precast worked in partnership with the Anderson Group on The Quarry housing development at Erith in London. Flood Precast provided concrete Hollowcore flooring for the houses and external precast stairs for the apartments. The Quarry is a unique collection of around 600 homes, made up of 2 bedroom maisonettes and 3 & 4 bedroom houses.
The design of these homes was unique as they used timber cladding on the exterior wall then used concrete hollowcore flooring slab on the first floors of the houses. The hollowcore slabs sit on an internal blockwork wall system and the exterior of the houses was timber cladded.
Safe and Secure First Floor – The excellent fire resistance and sound barrier provided by a concrete first floor make it an essential component of a safe and quiet home. Flood Precast’s attention to safety combined with the usefulness of a concrete floor as a safe platform for following trades will aid the running of a safe site.
There are numerous reasons why concrete stairs are superior to using other materials for an access solution. The main one, of course, is their strength and durability. As you would expect, they will not only take a heavy load, but they will be able to withstand weather conditions without rotting, and last for decades without needing repair, and tailored to your bespoke individual requirements, they can be crafted to create a beautiful aesthetic feature
