UCD was granted permission for their UCD Student Residences Masterplan, which will be the largest single student housing scheme to date. The ucd student residences masterplan has been developed which proposes to increase existing accommodation from 3,170 to 6,000 bedrooms. This project will deliver a state of the art accommodation, amenity, and retail facilities on UCD’s Belfield Campus.
The Project consists of the construction of two new residential blocks. ‘Block D’ will contain 455 no. student bedrooms & ‘Block E’ will contain 409 no. student bedrooms, as well as the construction of a ‘Fulcrum’ building. The Fulcrum building is a two-storey student centre, with a 290 seat auditorium, restaurant, 5 no. retail units (grey box), gymnasium, health & wellbeing centre, meeting rooms and office accommodation. It also includes a five-storey residential block which contains 60 no. studio apartments.
Flood Precast provided precast stairs and terrace seating to the Auditorium, precast stairs for the Fulcrum and Block D &E, and precast hollowcore and slabs for Block E.
