Exposed soffit Type B finish required for Warwick University Business School, Coventry Campus.

Omnia Flooring, Precast Stairs and Flood Super Wideslab® provided essential Exposed Soffit finish.

Project Background Information: Warwick University Business School, Coventry Campus.

Issues and Problems:

Solutions and Recommendations:

100mm deep Flood Super Wideslab®, 75mm deep Omnia type plank, Precast Stairs and Terrance Seating with type B finish. Both required a high quality soffit finish which could be left exposed or painted.

Information:

The building site was in a live campus and access was extremely limited.  We delivered our products on trailers that were left on site to be unloaded, then did a pick & drop for the rest of install as all flooring and stairs were  installed by the steel erectors that were on site.

What is Omina Flooring?

Omnia Flooring Slab is a reinforced Precast Concrete Slab which incorporates a triangular lattice girder that is attached to a lower layer of reinforcement.

The slab is wet cast on a high quality steel bed incorporating the lattice girder which is manufactured from high strength steel wire which provides rigidity to the panel. This enables it to bind easily with in-situ concrete/structural screed which is poured later on site. Ideal for forming difficult shapes where a permanent shutter with a higher quality finish than can be achieved where form work is required.

What is Flood Super Wideslab®?

This Flooring Slab is manufactured on the same steel beds as the Omnia & is wet cast to give a type B finish. The planks have pre-stressed wires running through them that give them their strength but as with the Omnia a lattice girder can be incorporated if required.
