Key Construction dates met using flood precast concrete flooring slabs.

Flood Precast designed, manufactured, supplied and installed Hollowcore Flooring for Roof Slabs for DAA Pier 1 Extension. This project had an accelerated programme with key construction dates that needed to be met. We supplied our last slabs on the delivery date 19th January 2017.

Works were completed at the Pier 1 Extension at Dublin Airport at the start of 2017. This planned extension was 1,000sq m extension to Pier 1 would allow boarding facilities at an area of existing apron that currently accommodates machinery and equipment used to service aircraft, meaning all parking stands associated with Pier 1 can be accessed by passengers on foot from the terminal. Works are continuing on upgrading Terminal 1, which is more than 40 years old, including ticket desks and departure-floor changes.

Hollowcore flooring is an efficient and modern flooring solution that can be implemented within a great many structures. Comprised of precast concrete with lengthwise voids, Hollowcore is the ideal solution for those who are looking to take advantage of the strength of traditional concrete while simultaneously enjoying a low weight and high load capacity.

The use of Precast Concrete Hollowcore Flooring is a highly cost-effective solution that fits easily into any structural system such as steel or concrete frame or indeed masonry construction.

The units themselves are manufactured at a width of 1200mm and depths of 150, 200, 250, and 300mm. See Span/Load Tables for full details.
