Prestressed Hollowcore Flooring Slabs and Stairs for Mount Lucas Wind Farm

The Mount Lucas wind farm comprises 28 huge turbines producing 84 megawatts of electricity, enough to power up to 45,000 homes. Flood Precast provided 275m2 prestressed hollowcore flooring and 3no Precast Stairs for the mount Lucas wind farm service building. These we’re designed, supplied and installed by Flood Precast.

There are several advantages of the precast flooring hollowcore slab or prestressed hollowcore flooring slabs such as: heavy weight capacity, exceptional fire resistance, lower self-weight, superior acoustic insulation and thermal properties, cost-effective construction solution, offers better designing flexibility to builders, rapid speed of erection, moderate use of raw material, highly effective for circulating fresh and warm air, and offers preformed site services.

Compared to the other traditional methods of construction, prestressed hollowcore flooring slabs are manufactured using highly automated hollow core machines; through environment friendly manufacturing process. They consume lesser raw material and possess higher concrete strength, are structurally efficient, have reduced thickness;

These slab units can be manufactured in various depths in order to fulfil the diverse requirements for span and loading.
